When I started my first business 26 years ago, I didn’t really know what I was doing.

No deep marketing plan. No bulletproof strategy. No idea if any of it would work.

But I had a few things that turned out to matter more than I realised at the time. One of them was a small commitment I made early on – something I started doing long before I had anything to sell and long before anyone was really paying attention.

Looking back now, I can see how much of what came next – the books, the courses, the life I’ve built – grew out of a handful of decisions I made in those early days. None of it looked anything like I would have predicted at the time.

In this conversation with Andrea, I share the story of how it all started – how this is connected with the visibility experiment I’m running right now – and the one thing I wish someone had told me at the beginning.
